1. When instructed to create a sketch about the Holidays, 2 students referred to Santa Clause as "Christmas Dad" (direct translation of Père Noël)
2. One student asked me if it was possible to buy "cooking foods" in America (when pressed, he defined "cooking foods" as eggs and sugar) because his sister went to England once and came back telling people you could buy pre-made meals there but no ingredients.
3. Asked me if I had a "little friend" (direct translation of petit ami, i.e. boyfriend). I told him I don't discriminate based on height when choosing my friends.
4. Told me my hair was too long and then suggested that he could help me shorten it with something he had set on fire. (He had some kind of flint/steel combo that he was sparking at people). Don't worry, afterwards he was nice enough to tell me that he liked my hair, long though it is. Thanks, creep.
p.s. No, Mom, I'm not naming Hammy after you. He's a BOY!! Besides, its weird to name a hamster after your mother.

Well, how much does it really matter that Hammy is a boy? When is he ever going to meet up with a girl?

Please excuse me, but, coming across this blog, it occurs that you may be just the person (people) to help me, as I put together a concert tour that includes, if possible, dates in Brittany.
I serve as manager to Canadian musician Allison Crowe. (You can hear Allison's music on her website.) Allison is touring Europe this June, and will perform a couple of dates in Paris at L'Archipel.
Agnès Jourdain, creator of the Piano Bleu website, lives in Concarneau and recommends Allison come perform in Bretagne.
So far, all good! Now, I communicate only in English, and in my efforts to find piano venues in the region, and to explain our tour etc. I am reaching people who communicate almost entirely en Français. Between us, all using different online translaters/transducers, we get some funny conversations, and progress is made, but c'est tres lentement.
In order to peg the venues before too late, I'm hoping, perhaps, you, Sarah, or bilingual friends/fans of your blog, may know of suitable, intimate, piano concert venues in St. Brieuc, Pordic/Ville-Robert, Rennes or other places! (ie. with acoustic pianos in situ, not keyboards)
